Neil MacMillan represents Springer Nature, the publisher of Nature and the Nature branded research journals. Neil manages Springer Nature's partnering activity and sales of institutional solutions in the academic, non-profit and government institutional space. Neil's goal is to tailor and deliver bespoke solutions to institutions to maximize their research impact and empower their researchers. One of these solutions is the Nature Masterclasses training program.

Neil MacMillan is originally from Southern California and has a B.S. in Biochemistry/Chemistry from the University of California San Diego. He developed a keen interest in academic publishing while working as a research assistant in Komives Research Laboratory on campus, and moved to NYC in 2014 to join the Nature team. Since joining Springer Nature, Neil has worked with numerous institutions, including the University of California system, University of Texas system, Northwestern University, Stanford University, and Arizona State University. Neil often works with Presidents, Provosts, Vice Presidents for Research, Directors, Deans, and (for the Nature Masterclasses program) Librarians.
